Dr Khan brings a unique skill to UAE whereby helping people to asses and manage disease at early stages using special Clinical & Endoscopic expertise. He has developed a “bespoke service” for people with Diabetes and Fatty liver to get screened and manage at early stage to help not only with liver but also with their Diabetes before it gets worse. He has special clinical and research interest in this area and we are pleased to see that he will be doing population based studies here at King’s Dubai.
Dr Khan also brings a world of expertise in Endoscopic Ultrasound to our doorstep. EUS is relatively a newer technique which allows accurate detection of Gastrointestinal, biliary and pancreatic problems that, at times, can be missed with CT or MRI and remain undiagnosed. It also allows Oncology and Radiotherapy based regimens to treat cancers more effectively. Dr Khan not only performs these procedures but also a certified trainer for EUS and we are excited that he brings plans to train other physicians in the Gulf region to help wider patient populations in the region; in line with King’s legacy.
At Kings, besides general GI diseases, Dr Khan will be doing special clinics for complex liver diseases including Liver Transplant clinic. He will also be starting a dedicated tailor-made clinic for young people who have “recurrent undiagnosed abdominal pain”, including those who had their gallbladder removed but have ongoing symptoms.
