Dr Feroza Dawood is an internationally respected, dedicated and dynamic UK-trained consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with almost 20 years of experience. Her expertise encompasses maternal medicine (focusing on diabetes, thyroid disease, epilepsy and antiphospholipid syndrome in pregnancy), pre-pregnancy counselling, high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries ,caesarean sections, general gynaecology (management of fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries),paediatric gynaecology, menstrual disorders and menopausal disorders. She is also considered a distinguished international expert in all aspects of miscarriage, in particular, recurrent miscarriage and has special proficiency in conducting transabdominal cerclage operations to prevent second-trimester miscarriages and pre-term labour. In this regard, Dr Feroza’s highly acclaimed UK specialist miscarriage clinic received referrals from across the UK, and abroad. The novel treatments and the clinic’s success were showcased and featured on British TV, and in the media.

Pursuant to attaining her primary MBCHB degree, Dr Feroza embarked on specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology during which time she gained a Diploma in Family Planning (DFFP) and obtained the membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), London, UK. She successfully completed a specialist skills module in Maternal Medicine and is UK board-certified, attaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Feroza was appointed to a consultant post in 2009 at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, the leading and largest dedicated women’s hospital in the UK.

Dr Feroza has a robust and prolific research portfolio and performed seminal research in genetics, thrombophilia and recurrent miscarriage that culminated in a Doctorate Degree in Medicine (MD) from the University of Liverpool (UK). She has authored almost 100 papers, chapters and abstracts, including a publication in the highly esteemed New England Journal of Medicine (Boston, USA). She has conducted and led international collaborative research with physicians from across the world including the UK, Amsterdam, Chicago, San Francisco, and Italy. She has been a director of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units in the UK and an executive member of the UK Early Pregnancy Surveillance Service. She is regularly invited to deliver international lectures on her research, including lectures at the RCOG World Congress. She has been featured on British TV, radio, newspapers and magazines, won numerous research awards in Miami, Sweden, Birmingham and Bristol and achieved 3 clinical excellence awards from the UK National Health Service.

Dr Feroza has also been a clinical lecturer at the University of Liverpool, UK and has engaged in teaching undergraduate medical students as well as being a mentor for several international (USA, Saudi Arabia and Europe) postgraduate PhD students and is an MRCOG (UK) examiner. Furthermore, she achieved with distinction, a postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Leadership and Management and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in International Healthcare Leadership from the prestigious world-renowned, Manchester Business School, UK.

Dr Feroza has been working in the private sector in Abu Dhabi since 2016. She is regularly invited to deliver lectures at various conferences within the UAE and has contributed to Arab Health magazine.
