Dr Heyman Luckraz is a UK-trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon with nearly 30 years of experience and specialises in coronary artery bypass grafting (on-pump and off-pump), aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valves surgery (including infective endocarditis), myxoma surgery, surgery on the aorta and atrial fibrillation surgery with a special interest in minimal access surgery. He also has a comprehensive experience with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Transcatheter Mitral valve Implantation (TMVI). In addition, he performs surgical procedures within the thorax (lung, mediastinum, chest wall) via Keyhole surgery – Video Assisted Thoracoscopy (VATS).
Dr Luckraz graduated with honours from the University of London. Throughout his career, he has worked in some of the UK’s leading medical institutions, including the Heart and Lung Centre, the University Hospital of Wales, Papworth Hospital, John Radcliffe Hospital, St Georges Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital.
Over the years, Dr Luckraz has over 130 peer-reviewed publications. In parallel to his work in surgery, Dr Luckraz often partakes in seminars, roundtables, research projects and medical presentations on topics such as Endoscopic Vein Harvesting, Acute Kidney Injury (CSA-AKI) & Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) after cardiac surgery, Trans-catheter Valve Therapy (TAVI/TAVR/TMVR) and Cost-effectiveness in the delivery of HealthCare.
