With an impressive to 20+ years experience, including highly prestigious hospitals as Royal Marsden Hospital, University Hospitals Nottingham, University Hospital Birmingham and Kings College Hospital London in the UK of clinical experience, Dr Shabeeha specialises in various haematological conditions, including malignant and laboratory haematology, focusing on conditions like Acute and chronic leukemia, Hodgkins and Non Hodgkins lymphoma, multiple myeloma and Amyloidosis. She is the pioneer of first hematopoietic stem cell transplantation program in Dubai and duly led the program as the Director of Clinical haematology, HSCT, and Cellular Therapy at the American Hospital Dubai.
Dr Shabeeha has had a distinguished career, marked by tenures at prestigious healthcare institutions like the Royal Marsden Hospital London, University Hospitals Birmingham and was appointed as Consultant Haematologist at the Kings College Hospital London, before moving to Dubai in 2018.
Dr Shabeeha graduated from The Aga Khan Medical University in Pakistan, earning her MBBS. She further honed her skills in the United Kingdom, acquiring a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Haematology and Haemato-Oncology. She is duly registered and licensed to practice on the GMC register.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Dr Shabeeha is an active contributor to the medical community. She holds memberships in several esteemed organisations and has been a speaker at national and international conferences with several peer reviewed publications.
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Dr Shabeeha has been selected as the first ever representation from Gulf region at the European Hematology Association annual meeting 2023, an esteemed distinction within the “Women in Lymphoma” group. Her leadership and contributions continue to shape the future of hematology in UAE and she remains a trusted advocate for patients seeking highest standards of medical care.
She is an active member of American Society of Hematology, British Society of Haematology, European Society of Hematology, European Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular therapy, Emirates Society of Hematology, Emirates Oncology Society, Society of Medical Oncology Pakistan and Pakistan Society of Hematology. She is well known speaker with both nationally and internationally on Malignant Hematology with her interest in Lymphoma, Myeloma and Leukemia.
She is passionate about teaching, clinical research and patient awareness for blood cancers.
