Sara brings over 14 years of healthcare experience in numerous leadership roles from two of the largest healthcare providers in the UAE. She has taken on leadership roles in strategy, operations, clinical governance and government relations. Sara was heavily involved in the business integration of the UAE’s largest healthcare merger and instrumental in setting the combined group’s strategy.
Sara is strongly affiliated to the King’s brand having completed her PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from King’s College London, UK. She gained her undergraduate in Pharmacology (First Class Honours) from the University of Bristol, UK and has an MBA from Duke University, USA. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UAE University, where she teaches students about the complexity of UAE healthcare systems.
Sara started her career as a researcher at GlaxoSmithKline, USA working in research and development at the Cardiovascular and Urogenital Centre of Excellence in Drug Discovery. When she moved to the UAE, she worked at Al Noor Hospitals Group Plc in numerous roles including Hospital COO and Corporate Director of Quality and Government Relations, leading the strategic growth of the flagship hospital, improving quality of service and introducing new service lines. After the merger between Mediclinic International and Al Noor Hospitals Group, Sara was appointed as the Director of Business Performance Improvement, leading strategic projects for the group that resulted in significant cost savings, efficiency of business processes and revenue diversification.
Sara has joined King’s College Hospital in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer, where she will be driving the development and execution of a growth and commercial strategy. She will be responsible for the differentiation strategy of the service offering, insurance relations, business development, service line management and marketing activities. She is extremely passionate about delivering high quality care in an efficient, patient- centred setting and is excited about bringing the King’s College Hospital brand and quality to the UAE community.
Sara lives in Dubai with her husband and has called the UAE home for over 25 years. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with family, mentoring students, travelling and flamenco.
