As the Chief People Officer for King’s College Hospital in the UAE, Sami’s main focus is building and executing the People Strategy for the organization.
Sami has over 20 years of experience in Human Capital Management acquired through working in different industries including healthcare, high tech, retail, and media. Over the years, he has gained in-depth knowledge and experience within the Human Capital field including organizational design and development, employee engagement, talent acquisition, performance management and succession planning.
Sami joined Intel Corporation in the US in 1996, where he covered multiple roles in the Human Capital organization over his 12-year tenure with the company. He then moved to Dubai – UAE where he managed the overall function of Human Resources for a large regional retailor and then moved on to setup the HR function and strategy for a regional digital media startup in his role as Vice President of Human Capital.
Sami moved into healthcare in 2013 and joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, a world-renowned hospital launching its operations in the Middle East, as the Head of HR Operations. During the ramp up phase, he led the on-boarding project, which welcomed 2500 employees into the hospital during start-up and also was the head of Organizational Development and Design.
In his current role with King’s College Hospital, his main aim is to build the culture of the organization commensurate with its established values in order to attract the right talent moving forward.
Sami lives in Dubai, married with three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, travel and music.
