Ms Jessica Nelson is a UK-trained Clinical Nutrition and Intestinal Failure Nurse with over 10 years of expertise in clinical nutrition, gastroenterology, and medical/surgical care across inpatient and outpatient environments. She is licensed and regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the UK and locally by the Dubai Health Authority.

She began her nursing career in the UK after graduating with a distinction from Edinburgh Napier University in 2015. Within two years, she advanced to the role of Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne. Here, she worked on the regional home parenteral nutrition and intestinal failure unit, caring for patients with complex intestinal failure. Jessica contributed to academic abstract publications and was a part of the nursing team recognised with the British Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association Award in 2019.

In 2024, Jessica relocated to Dubai, where she gained further experience working in private hospitals. During this time, she cared for patients with long-term health conditions as well as those requiring specialised support before and after surgery, further strengthening her expertise in clinical nutrition and patient-centred care. She joins King’s as an Intestinal Failure and Nutrition Nurse for the Integrated Intestinal Rehabilitation Centre (KIIRC). Ms Nelson plays a key role in the nutritional support team, providing expert guidance to both patients and staff on advanced nutrition therapies, including enteral feeding tubes and vascular access devices for parenteral nutrition.
