Ms Sheida Bavandi is an LSVT-certified Speech Therapist and Videofluoriscopic swallowing assessment (VFSS) specialist with over 15 years of expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex neurogenic communication, swallowing, and voice disorders. She has extensive experience in dysphagia management for neurological disorders, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurogenic conditions. Ms Bavandi is skilled in voice therapy, comprehensive speech, language and communication rehabilitation for adults. She is committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care to improve communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life.
She began her career working as a university faculty member while simultaneously managing and running her own speech therapy clinic. After relocating to Dubai, she continued to broaden her clinical expertise by working with adult and paediatric populations. Ms. Bavandi remains actively engaged in research, presenting frequently at both national and international medical conferences and continually advancing her clinical expertise.
Her work seamlessly blends evidence-based practice with culturally sensitive approaches, focusing on collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients. She is a member of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA), the Emirates SLP Society (ESLPS), and the European Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ESPRM).
