Dr. Rizwan, the newly appointed Chief Projects Officer who will lead the Hospital Phase 2 Project, returns to King’s College Hospital London Dubai after an illustrious tenure in global healthcare leadership. In this new role, he will lead and execute major projects, leveraging his extensive experience in healthcare management, strategic oversight, and operational excellence. His efforts will be focused on successfully delivering high-impact initiatives that will further elevate our organisation’s quality of care and innovation.
Previously, Dr. Rizwan was a prominent urologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), where he pioneered patient-focused initiatives and transformed care delivery. His leadership was further demonstrated at King’s College Hospital Dubai in 2021, where he restructured gynaecological and surgical departments, commissioned new theatres, and significantly improved service quality and operational efficiency. His promotion to Chief Medical Officer saw him leading the recruitment of top-tier physicians and orchestrating the reorganization of multiple clinical streams, dramatically improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Following his success in Dubai, Dr. Rizwan served as Chief Governance and Strategy Officer at King’s College Hospital Jeddah. There, he led the hospital’s establishment, from construction to procurement, and ensured the implementation of a UK-aligned Quality Framework. His ability to manage stakeholder relationships and secure regulatory approvals was key to the seamless delivery of projects.
Dr. Rizwan’s impact extends beyond administration. He has held influential roles on the governing boards of the European and British Urological Associations, as well as the International Continence Society, shaping global urological practices. His academic contributions include over 125 peer-reviewed publications, invited review articles, and 15 book chapters, making him a sought-after speaker at international conferences.
Holding an MD from UCL, Dr. Rizwan’s career is marked by his relentless dedication to advancing healthcare, improving systems, and driving global innovation in the field.
