The role of the Construction Department is to provide facilities and infrastructure for our teams to operate within. Therefore from feasibility inception right through to operations being carried out, the Construction Department lead all activates including site acquisition, land lease, planning, design, construction, fit out, equipping, commissioning and all authority approvals required within the relevant operating regions. All the above must be delivered within our budget allowances and within exacting timescales to ensure we are open to provide premium health care services to the community. The Construction Department is responsible for the vast majority of Capital Expenditure.

In order to provide optimum facilities and equipment for our clinical teams, the Construction Department works as an integral component of the Executive Team. By using leading international consultants and contractors, we use evidence-based design for our facilities. With world renowned clinical and managerial expertise within the Kings College Hospital organization, we are able to harness exceptional in-house expertise to ensure clinical excellence is facilitated through well planned and executed buildings.

The Construction Department works as an integral partner with the rest of the organization.
