Dr Maher A. Abbas is an internationally known colorectal surgeon with 25 years of experience in medicine and surgery.

To date he has conducted over 15,000 operations and procedures. Upon completion of his professional training, Dr. Maher A. Abbas joined Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California, where he established the tertiary national center in colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Maher A. Abbas has attained the highest rank of full professor of surgery in the USA. He has authored over 150 scientific publications including books, book chapters, and articles.

In 2013, Dr. Maher A. Abbas was recruited by the Cleveland Clinic as the founding chair of the digestive disease institute in its new Abu Dhabi location. In 2017, he moved to Dubai to launch the specialty of colon and rectal surgery and provide his clinical services nationally and internationally to patients from the UAE, Gulf countries, the Arab world, Asia, and Africa.
