Blair Agero, hand therapist, is based at King’s College Hospital in Dubai. He is an experienced Orthopaedic Hand Therapist and Occupational Therapist. He has more than 23 years of cumulative experience in Occupational Therapy. He spent 11 years as a Paediatric Early Intervention Occupational Therapy Specialist before embarking on his current specialization as a Qualified Hand Therapist.

In the last 12 years and running, he has been focused on the treatment of Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal disorders and conditions of the elbow, wrist, hand and fingers.  He is experienced in the conservative and post-operative rehabilitation of:

  • Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex (TFCC)
  • Scapholunate Interosseous Ligament (SLIL)
  • Wrist ligament injuries
  • Distal Radius Fractures
  • Forearm (Radius/Ulna) fractures

  • Finger joint arthroplasty Rehabilitation

Blair holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Hand Therapy from the International University of Andalucía, Spain (2022) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Hand Therapy from the University of Derby, United Kingdom (2014)

He acquired his Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (1999) in Manila, Philippines. He also has certification in Basic and Advanced Clinical Dry Needling and Dynamic Cupping Therapy.

He has received certified training for adjunct treatments and current practices related to Hand Therapy and Occupational Therapy from Barcelona, Finland, Dubai, London and Manila. He is passionate about advancing the Hand Therapy practice in Dubai and the UAE. He is currently the official representative of the UAE to the International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy (IFSHT).

He has presented his work and shared his clinical approach in Hand Therapy as a speaker in international conferences and congresses in UAE (2021), Turkey (2021), Austria (2021) and Germany (2019).

He is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT).
