Dr Witwit is an award-winning European and UK-trained Consultant Radiologist with over 27 years of professional experience in diagnostic radiology and expertise in cross-sectional, cardiothoracic, paediatric, neuro, and head-and-neck imaging, as well as image-guided interventions. He excels in providing advanced diagnostic imaging for both adult and paediatric patients.
He completed his MBChB at the University of Baghdad in 1994 and subsequently pursued advanced radiology training in Europe. He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR, UK) in 2007, followed by the Norwegian and Swedish Board Certifications in Radiology in 2008 and 2009, and CCT equivalence in the UK in 2010. In 2024, he was admitted to the Irish Medical Council Specialist Register as a Consultant Radiologist.
Before rejoining King’s, Dr Witwit served as Consultant Radiologist and Lead for Cardiothoracic Imaging at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust in London, specialising in CT- and ultrasound-guided lung and pleural biopsies, thoracic oncology, and interstitial lung disease imaging. He was awarded the NHS Hero Award in 2021 for his contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
