Dr Nikil is a UK board-certified Consultant in Paediatrics with a special interest in Paediatric Neurology.
Before joining King’s, Dr Nikil worked as a Consultant Paediatrician and lead for Neurology at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital Brighton, UK, from 2015 to 2022. He was also the Paediatric lead for genomics at the NHS Southeast Genomic Medicine Service Alliance – a pioneering service tasked with mainstreaming genomic testing in day-to-day practice in South East England.
Dr Nikil is highly experienced in all aspects of acute and chronic general paediatric conditions and common Neurological disorders like epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders and Neuro-disability. He is a member, trainer and course director for the Paediatric Epilepsy Training course run by the British Paediatric Neurology Association (BPNA).
Dr Nikil obtained his MBBS from Calicut Medical College, India, and then joined the prestigious paediatric training programme in Birmingham, UK. He completed his paediatric training and achieved MRCPCH from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and CCT in Paediatrics from the General Medical Council, UK. He obtained FRCPCH in 2021. He is a keen medical educator with a post-graduate certificate in medical education (PGCE) awarded by Warwick University, UK. His publications have been featured in eminent international journals, including archives of diseases in childhood.
