Professor K. Ray Chaudhury serves as Director – Research & Academia and Consultant – Neurology. He brings over 30 years of post-specialization experience and will be offering his expertise as a visiting consultant at King’s College Hospital, London, Dubai Hills.

Professor K. Ray Chaudhuri has held numerous distinguished international and national positions, including Professor of Neurology/Movement Disorders at King’s College Hospital and King’s College London, and the Medical Director of the Parkinson Foundation International Centre of Excellence at King’s College. He is internationally known for pioneering modern care for people with Parkinson’s, particularly advanced therapies in addition to nonmotor problems. He is the founding Chairman of the International Movement Disorders Society Non-motor Study Group and has held many Committee positions at the IPMDS, including membership on the MDS Congress Scientific Programme Committee (2013–2017).

He is the founding and consulting editor and ex editor-in-chief of the Nature group Nature Parkinson’s journal (2020 Impact Factor 8.8), as well as Journal of Personalised Medicine and guest editor in Frontiers, among others. Professor Chaudhuri is the author of over 550 papers, co-editor of five books on Parkinson’s disease and restless legs syndrome, and winner of the BMA Book Prize commendations. He won the Andrew Wilson Prize for services to RLS patients by RLS:UK, the William Koller Memorial Fund Award by MDS, the 2018 Van Andel Award in the USA, as well as the NIHR/Royal College of Physicians London award for outstanding research leadership in 2017.

Professor Ray Chaudhury was elected an honorary member of the Movement Disorders Society in 2021, appointed Honorary Professor at Brasov University, and received the UK NHS Gold Merit Award in 2021 for excellence in research and clinical service.

In 2023, he was featured as a “role model” in the British Medical Journal. He has been a guest lecturer worldwide, including in Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, India, Africa, the US, Russia, and Europe.

In 2022/2023, he is ranked fourth in the world for Parkinson’s publications and expertise since 2014, and number one in the UK (Expertscape: Parkinson’s disease).

In 2024, an independent review in the Frontiers journal by Li et al. rated Professor K. Ray Chaudhuri as the one with the most publications globally in non-motor Parkinson’s since 2013 (Li et al., DOI: 10.3389/fnagi.2024.1335550).

He is a member of the Parkinson’s UK project grants College of Experts and a reviewer for the USA Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA)) and NIH, as well as Middle East grant programs such as the Dubai Health Authority and the Saudi Arabia Grants Committee (RDIA grants program).
