King’s College Hospital London, Dubai Hills – How Will Our Landmark Expansion Transform Healthcare in the UAE?

What is happening at King’s Dubai Hills Hospital?

King’s College Hospital London, Dubai is growing to serve you better. Over the next few years, we’re expanding our Dubai Hills hospital, with completion planned for 2028, to bring more specialist care and increase the number of patients we can help. This upgrade will include brand-new facilities, the latest medical technology, and more services in key areas such as neurology and oncology. Working closely with the Dubai Health Authority, we’re making sure these changes meet the healthcare needs of Dubai and continue our promise to deliver trusted British standards of care right here in the UAE.

How will the expansion improve patient care?

The expansion will make it easier for patients to access advanced, integrated care under one roof. State-of-the-art facilities will enable faster diagnosis, advanced treatment options, and complete care pathways for complex conditions. By building a digitally native hospital, we can shorten referral times, improve treatment outcomes, and personalise each patient’s care journey.

Now, patients can expect:

  • See the right specialist(s) sooner so you can start treatment without unnecessary delays.
  • All your care in one place, with our teams working together for even complex conditions.
  • Treatment plans designed just for you, supported by the latest digital technology.

Whether for a routine check-up or life-saving surgery, patients will benefit from shorter waiting times, seamless transitions between services, and the latest medical innovations.

What will the hospital look like?

King’s College Hospital London – Dubai is laying the foundations for a truly digitally native hospital, designed to combine advanced healthcare technology with calming, patient-centered spaces that support well-being, comfort, and recovery. Inspired by Japandi design principles, the expansion will introduce natural materials, refined finishes, and a cleaner contemporary architectural expression that reflects both innovation and empathy in healthcare design.

Throughout the construction period, the hospital will remain fully operational, with all services continuing uninterrupted. Patients can expect the same trusted, consultant-led care, supported by internationally recognized specialists and multidisciplinary teams.

Will King’s Dubai Hills hospital stay open during construction?

Yes, all clinical services will remain fully operational during the expansion. Outpatient clinics, inpatient care, diagnostics, and the Emergency Department will continue as normal. While construction hoarding and route changes may be visible, these will be clearly signposted, and our Kingsmen will be available to guide and assist you at every stage of your visit.

How can patients access the hospital during working hours?

The Emergency Department will remain accessible from the south side of the hospital, with clear directional signage. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to allow for check-in and to navigate any route adjustments. Complimentary valet parking will continue at the main entrance, and patients can request home delivery for prescription medicines to minimise time spent on site.

During the expansion, we encourage patients to:

  • Follow on-site signs for the quickest entry routes.
  • Use complimentary valet parking for convenience.
  • Ask our Kingsmen for assistance with wayfinding or mobility needs.

What is being done to keep visits comfortable and convenient?

We are taking proactive steps to ensure the patient experience remains smooth during construction. Kingsmen are available to assist with wheelchairs, wayfinding, and transport within the hospital. Valet returns typically take 10 minutes, although peak periods may require a short wait. If you are running late, call 800 7777 so our team can adjust accordingly.

How is sustainability built into the project?

The hospital expansion is being constructed using sustainable design and environmentally conscious materials to reduce our carbon footprint. Energy-efficient systems and smart layouts will improve long-term efficiency, while new clinical and support roles will be created to strengthen Dubai’s healthcare workforce.

We are committed to continually improving our patient experience. If you would like to share feedback about your visit, please contact our Patient Experience Team by calling 056 2180158 or by email feedback@kch.ae
