Dr Hammad Bajwa is a UK-trained Endocrinologist with two decades of experience in Clinical and Managerial roles. He boasts expertise in areas such as T1DM, T2DM, Insulin pump management, Thyroid and Adrenal gland diseases, Reproductive endocrinology, Metabolic bone disease, and Obesity.
Dr Bajwa’s illustrious career saw him previously serve as a Consultant Endocrinologist and Lead for Diabetes at both Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, West-Midlands, UK, and Habib Medical Group, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has initiated innovative healthcare services and quality improvement projects, including the Insulin Pump clinic at Habib Medical Group, Takhassusi Hospital, Riyadh, and the Community Diabetes Service at Dudley, UK.
His academic journey started with an MBBS degree from Pakistan. Then, Dr Bajwa pursued higher specialist training in Endocrinology and Diabetes from Birmingham, UK. He was honoured with a fellowship from the Royal College of Edinburgh, UK, and awarded the American College of Physicians membership. On the research front, Dr Bajwa was pivotal as the Principal Investigator for the international O-Sema Fast Study on Diabetes management during Ramadan. His commendable research work is reflected in numerous presentations at regional, national, and international Endocrinology and Diabetes conferences. From 2017-2019, he served as an Educational Supervisor and Mentor for the Endocrinology fellowship in Birmingham, UK. His contributions to the Guidelines development group for NHS hospitals span 2013 to 2019. Moreover, he was a finalist at the Health Service Award UK 2017 for a quality improvement project.
