Dr Harikumar Nair is a consultant neonatologist with more than fifteen years of experience in Neonatology, including more than nine years as consultant. He qualified in 1992 from Alleppey Medical College and continued his training in Paediatrics and Neonatal medicine in the UK. As part of his training in the London Deanery, he gained experience from many esteemed institutions in London including Kings College Hospital, St George’s Hospital and St Thomas Hospital and obtained CCT in 2011. Dr Nair received MRCPCH (UK) in 2001 and became a fellow of the royal college of Paediatrics and Child health (FRCPCH UK) in 2020.
Dr Nair completed his research on respiratory mechanics and respiratory muscles in ventilated children, working at the department of Asthma, Allergy and Lung Biology at Kings College London from 2003 to 2006. He has published several articles in peer reviewed journals including the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Paediatric Pulmonology, European Journal of Paediatrics, and the British Journal of Intensive care. Dr Nair has also presented his findings at international conferences including the European Respiratory Society congresses and American Thoracic Society conference.
Dr Nair has special interest in Neonatal mechanical ventilation, neonatal respiratory illnesses, and neonatal nutrition. He strongly believes in family-oriented and multi-disciplinary approach in providing high quality care for neonates and infants. Dr Nair is committed to teaching and training trainee paediatricians and medical students and has done so successfully for many years in the UK.
Dr Nair is an avid reader, keen music listener and a passionate cricketer. He is also an English cricket board (ECB) certified cricket coach.
