Edel has a Bachelor of Science with honours in Dietetics from Ulster University in the UK. She is a registered and regulated Clinical Dietitian under the Health and Care Professions Council (UK) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA). As a member of the British Dietetic Association and the Critical Care Specialist Group, Edel uses evidence-based practice with the most up-to-date research available.
Edel worked initially as a Clinical Dietitian and later, a Senior Specialist Dietitian within the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK for several years, specialising in roles such as Home Enteral Feeding, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Gastroenterology and Pre- and Post- Surgical interventions particularly colorectal surgery. She trained student dietitians from the local University and was a mentor to junior dietitians within the Dietetic Team.
Edel has continued to expand her knowledge and has completed post graduate training in haematology, oncology, intestinal failure and pancreatic disease.
Edel takes a holistic view to health and nutrition, educating clients on practical and sustainable changes to improve quality of health and wellbeing.
Edel now works with a range of clients; both in hospital and in clinic settings to provide high quality, individualised dietary advice, support and treatment tailored to the client and their needs.
Edel has also presented a range of nutrition-based webinars and interactive sessions to improve the nutritional knowledge and confidence of healthcare professionals, corporate workplaces and the public.
