Nadeen is a Registered Dietitian with the Dietitians of Canada and the College of Dietitians of Ontario, having completed her Bachelor degree in Nutrition and Food with Honours from Ryerson University in Canada. She holds a Masters degree from the University of Toronto and Mount Sinai Hospital, where her clinical nutrition research thesis focused on the effects of vitamin D on neurocognitive benefits and insulin resistance in geriatric patients. In addition to research, she advanced her academic experience by serving as a Teaching Assistant for a Nutrition course at the University of Toronto.
She pursued further training at North York General Hospital in Toronto where she gained clinical hands-on experience on the specific nutritional needs of complex and complicated disease conditions across all life stages, from premature infants in the Neonatal ICU to older adults with multiple co-morbidities.
Her skills include specialization in Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and Enteral Feeding (EN) for medical and surgical patients who are severely nutritionally compromised; as well as management of the metabolic syndrome and metabolic disorders including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, pancreatic, liver, and renal disorders. Her nutritional assessments include adults, children and infants.
Her interests include Medical Nutrition Therapy, Clinical Dietetics, Education and Research.
