Dr Praveen Peddu is Consultant Interventional Radiologist working at King’s College Hospital in London. He obtained his primary medical qualification in 1996 from India. He originally trained as surgeon in the UK and obtained MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2000. He completed his Radiology training in King’s College Hospital, London deanery training programme. He obtained FRCR from Royal College of Radiologists in 2004. He went to pursue sub speciality training in Interventional Radiology and obtained CCST in 2006. He then completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Interventional Radiology in King’s College Hospital before being appointed as Consultant in 2008. He currently leads Hepatobiliary Interventional Radiology at the same centre.

Dr Peddu has vast experience in Interventional Oncology and has performed several transarterial Interventions like Chemo-Embolization’s (TACE) and Radio-Embolization’s (TARE) treating hepatocellular carcinoma and liver metastases. He performs complex venous interventions such extended liver venous deprivation (EVLD) prior to major liver resection.  He has vast experience in percutaneous image guided Interventions like Microwave Ablation of Liver Tumours (MWA) and Irreversible Electroporation also Known as IRE or Nano knife for Liver and Pancreatic tumours. Dr Peddu, introduced Nano knife in the NHS in UK in 2014 and is considered one of the pioneers of this procedure worldwide.

Dr Peddu, regularly performs complex portal hypertension related hepatobiliary interventions like TIPS and BRTO. King’s is one of the large adult liver transplant centres in the world and also a major trauma centre in London and Dr Peddu, performs emergency arterial embolization’s for solid visceral trauma and manages post-transplant vascular and biliary complications with endovascular stenting of  hepatic artery, portal vein and hepatic veins.  He reports Liver imaging including complex liver CT and MR scans. He attends and presents radiology at regional Liver and pancreatic cancer Tumour board meetings.

Dr Peddu has published several peer reviewed papers in all major European Journals and written text book chapters. He regularly lectures at International meetings in UK, EU, Middle East and North America. He organises live educational workshops for Nano knife and Radio-embolization at King’s college Hospital.
