Dr Mustafa Jamal Ahmed trained at Kings College London at Aldwych in the United Kingdom for his medical degree, he completed an integrated BSC in pharmacology at the Kensington campus. He went on to further have his house officer job with Prof McGregor in Kings College Hospital, and there after senior house officer in the renal unit with Prof Bruce Hendry and finally senior registrar at Kings College Hospital London renal unit. He achieved his CCST, and has since been active in the United Arab Emirates over the last 15 years.

In the United Arab Emirates he performed the first live related transplant at the military hospital, the first recess incompatible transplant, the first paediatric transplant in the Federal Ministry of health. He has also orchestrated the first ABO incompatible transplant in the UAE national

He continues to hold very strong links with Kings College renal unit in the United Kingdom together with the transplant centre of guys Kings and St Thomas’s

His specialist interest includes diabetic kidney disease in the management thereof, he is otherwise competent nephrologist in the areas of glomerunephritis and the management of chronic kidney disease – all stages

He has since also established the first freestanding private dialysis unit in the United Arab Emirates in the Dubai healthcare city, and is very active in the area of nephrology holding clinics in the major part of the Emirates
