Dr Prashanth Srihari Bhat is a UK board-certified Consultant Neonatologist with over 15 years of experience in neonatology. He is also a Consultant Paediatrician with expertise and special interest in neonatal and pediatric cardiology

He received his medical degree (MBBS) and initial postgraduate training in Paediatrics from India. He then went on to complete his Pediatric training in London, followed by speciality training in neonatal medicine from London and Cambridge. He was awarded CCT in Neonatology from the UK in 2015.

Dr Bhat has a special interest in neonatal and Pediatric Cardiology. He has undertaken formal training in neonatal and paediatric echocardiography from London and has a Paediatric echocardiography certification in congenital heart defects from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). He runs the heart murmur clinic for babies and children up to 5 years of age at Kings College Hospital London in Dubai. He regularly undertakes inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms and manages children with congenital heart defects. He works closely with the pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital in Dubai and attends their cardiac multi-disciplinary meetings at least twice a month.

Dr Bhat has undertaken neonatal research (MD) at King’s College London and has published several peer reviewed papers and given international presentations. He is a fellow and member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. He is also a member of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, Neonatal Society (UK) and European Society of Cardiology.

He is currently an adjunct clinical associate professor of neonatology with Gulf Medical University and regularly teaches the medical students and interns. He is a UK resuscitation council-certified Newborn Life Support instructor and course director. In addition, in the past, he has been a key faculty on several UK national courses like MRCPCH clinical preparation, Hands-on ECHO, and neonatal ventilation courses.

Dr Bhat has extensive experience looking after premature infants from 23 weeks gestation. In addition, he follows up babies with prematurity, HIE, Jaundice, Gastro-oesophageal reflux and neonatal surgical conditions.
