About King’s College Hospital London

The UAE’s strong ties with King’s College Hospital London go back to 1979 when the nation’s founder, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, provided a donation that helped establish the King’s liver research centre which is now among the top three specialist liver centres in the world.

King’s College Hospital London, Dubai brings the 175 years legacy and experience as a leading healthcare provider to Dubai, UAE and the wider Gulf region. Patients from Africa, Asia and the Middle East previously would have flown to London for specialist care, can now benefit from the same highly qualified doctors, combined with the luxury hospitality Dubai is famous for.

A team leading in the fields of hepatology and liver surgery.

The Kings College Hospital London, Dubai Liver Centre also offers a solution for patients with end-stage liver failure or acute liver failure needing a liver graft, but do not have access to a deceased donor organ. The center offers adult-to-adult right lobe living donor liver transplantation.

This treatment is cost-effective increasing the recipient’s quality of life and life expectancy. The surgery can be performed at an optimal time before the recipient’s health deteriorate, giving it an advantage over traditional procedures. If there are no complications, long-term liver function is possible for both the donor and recipient as the liver regenerates.

Excellent patient outcomes

The multidisciplinary team at the Liver Centre’s top priority is donor safety.  Our surgeons have a proven track record, with donor safety and excellent recipient outcomes. No donor has suffered life-threatening organ dysfunction or residual disability and donors return to their normal lives.

The liver team at King’s in Dubai is led by internationally recognized transplant surgeon Dr. Parthi Srinivasan and hepatologist Dr Kaiser Raja and are supported by dedicated teams of liver surgeons, transplant anaesthetists, intensive care specialists, radiologists and transplant coordinators with skills developed at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London.
